I don't know for sure, but I would think the motherboard would be the same.

How much did they charge you to send the WLED backlit screen?

Do you have the part #?

In order to upgrade an m1330 from a CCFL to LED screen, you will have to replace not only the physical screen, but also the entire lid. The actual connections going to the laptop are the same for CCFL and LED with the exception that th CCFL screen has an extra connector. As long as you swap out the screen and lid, there shouldn't be any problems.

Is this to make up for any inconvenience Dell has caused you, or are you a big corporate customer?

That post makes little sense to me, care to clarify? Why would you need to replace the entire lid? To my knowledge laptops offering both backlighting technologies do so using the SAME lid. Forum users have compared thicknesses.

And what is the extra connector for CCFL? A CCFL panel has only two connections - one flat ribbon cable for the actual display, and a two-pin plug for the backlight (which goes into the inverter).

What connections does an LED panel have?
How does it accept power input for the backlight, does the motherboard-to-inverter plug attach to the panel directly (ditching the inverter), or is there some form of inverter involved still? Or is it a completely new connection from the motherboard altogether? And is the flat ribbon cable for the LCD panel the same? (this is only for pixel data, not lighting)

I'm just interested as to whether it's possible to switch between the two, but your post seems to create more questions than it answers...

First of all, think about the thickness of the two lids. The selling point of the LED screen is that it's slim and light. If you've seen any comparative pictures between the CCFL and LED lids, you'd know that one is thicker than the other and therefore if you changed the actual screen, you'll need to change the lid as well. Don't believe me? Oh well.....I'm speaking from experience. The screw holes holding the actual screen on the lid are in different locations for the CCFL and LED screens which also make them incompatible with one another.

As for the physical connections, there are two plugs (excluding the wireless antennas) that connect the screen to the motherboard. Both of these connectors are the same for both CCFL and LED screens, however on the CCFL screen, there is an additional 2-wire connector located in the lower left portion of the screen under the bezel which connects to the CCFL screen only. The LED screen does not have this additional connector.

Look specifically under the heading "Removing the Display Panel" and there is a little circle enlargement which shows the additional 2-wire connector which is only present on the CCFL screen.

Do CCFL display and LED display use the same inverter?
    Cheers.
