    Hi Guys,

I'm having problems with this old laptop that keeps failing on me. The hardrive is very important and the only way I know how to recover the data is connecting it to USP External Drive.

I have bought 2 batteries online and each one has failed not sure if it is the charger but every time I plug in the charger into the laptop the green light on the charger just turns off and the battery does not charge. This has happened twice now and I don't know what to do?

Sounds like a motherboard issue to me.

one test you can try is boot into the BIOS menu with just the AC adaptor and see if the BIOS reconizes the ac adaptor

    Hi Globalrecomp,

    Welcome to the community.

If the AC adapter light is lit initially and goes off when the adapter is connected to the system, then the issue is with the motherboard. The battery has already been replaced, so, before going for a replacement of motherboard, you may try the system with another AC adapter to rule it out as the cause of failure.

Kindly revert with the findings. Glad to help.
