My Dell XPS M140 has a power light on the bezel that blinks orange very rapidly. This usually happens when I leave the charger on the wall over night or for long periods of time.

However, when I take the battery out and push the button the battery itself, there are 5 green lights, so I assume all is fine, but what is with the orange flashing light on the bezel???

    Someone help plz!

I actually know what it is, but I am just afraid that it may not be "bright enough" ;)

If the LED is flashing more than 4 times per second it means that the battery has a permanent failure.

My battery switches between flashing orange and flashing red. I just got a new laptop battery because mine hadn't held a charge for a couple years. Now I have the new one, and it only stops flashing when I unplug the adapter. My computer isn't telling me there's anything wrong when I check Dell Support. What's the deal?

Is the battery taking a charge? Is it a genuine Dell battery?

Many many years ago (I think that was in the year 2000) I had something like that with my C600 I called dell and they said that the battery is going to die, they send me another one which fixed the problem.
