I Installed the windows 7 beta and had everything up and running smooth after i installed all my apps i went to add my music library to winamp. Now ahead of time everything works fine in vista and it seemed to work smoother and faster in win7 to this point. My harddrive with music is on a NAS drive that is on my linksys wrt610n router.

the three times i tried to scan my music from the NAS drive to winamp it blue screened. I could not get it to bluescreen any other time but when i was trying to add my music library to winamp. Anyone expierance this or have any idea how to fix it?

It bluescreens and reboots so fast i do not even get any information from the bluescreen.

My m1530 stats are as follows
    T9300 (2.5ghz penryn)
    3 gb of ram
    seagate 200gig 7200rpm drive
    bluetooth
intel 4965agn (i believe its the intel N card)
    default sound card

Hey, did you install the MP3 patch to prevent Windows 7 from corrupting your MP3 files? It's a known issue! You've been warned now! :) Don't play MP3 files or access them in any way until you install that patch, if you don't wanna corrupt your music collection.

yea i installed that patch. However that is only in conjunction with WMP not winamp. Still does not explain why i got the bluescreen :)

I have almost the exact same setup as you...

    t9300
    4GB
    200GB
    No BT
    intel 4965agn

    I am running Win7 beta 64bit.

I think your problem lies with the linksys software for your "NAS" drive thru their USB emulation software. Might want to look on their site for updated software/firmware.

I am running a DLink router with their SharePort v1.4 USB software to have a flash USB drive with music, and a usb printer connected. I have the USB drive listed thru WinAMP(x86) 5.541, and it plays and skips thru songs decently. I didnt test too much with theri Sharepoint 1.0 software, but it seemed to work fine too...

I heard some users with Win Xp had blue screen problems with the Dlink Shareport 1.0 software before too... and some feature in Windows XP or Net Limiter software had to be turned off. Cant find where I read that tho...

Otherwise.. Windows 7 beta 64bit for the last few weeks has not given me any blue screens thus far on this machine... Couple issues that i reported to Microsoft about (i.e. Start Menu new icons being slow to load, and some other window errors), but nothing too inhibiting to my windows experience.. hehe

    Hope this helps!

I dont have an ipod...so i cant comment

And if you have the patch, you shouldnt have to worry about your MP3s anymore. Supposedly, after the patch, it should attempt to fix what it initially messed up (but no guarantee).

as of now, my Mp3's seems to be working fine, both thru WMP and WinAmp.
    BTW i use WinAmp Lite...

As for the NAS access, is yours a USB - Router based NAS?? or a hard drive based, ethernet port NAS. (not sure if thats the proper way to describe it... hehe)

I got rid of the Media Direct partition so I could have a partition to test drive Win 7 RC 32-bit on a dual boot basis. Created a 45 Gb partition and installed.

Most drivers were installed automatically, but was getting 1.0 WEI due to no graphics driver for my 8600M GT. Went to Nvidia's website and installed their latest driver:

    After that,

Compare with what I get with Vista:

what nvidia driver did you use? I have a m1530 with a 8400m. I have installed windows 7 build 7600. When I try to install the installable from nvidia it fails, when i go to their website and attempt to allow their scanner to tell me which driver i need it gives me this message.

    any info will be helpful.

Can somebody give me a link for the SigmaTel audio driver for Windows 7 32-bit for XPS M1530 ? On the Dell site I have found and installed a SigmaTel driver (exact name : SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC) version 6.10.0.5866 from 15.02.2008, but it does not seem to work properly. (I tested for instance with Skype, and my communication partner hears my voice with interruptions)

Well... It doesn't, not quite anyway. The mike is getting enormous amount of background noise making it barely useable in Skype. And if it's no usable in Skype the whole Win 7 thing is null and void for me...

I've just installed it myself (Win7 x64) and less that overawed so far :(
