Hey,
I have had my Dell XPS M1530 for about 5 months now and suddenly i have realized that i am only getting audio out of the right-hand speaker, and that the left one is unresponsive.
My OS is fine, and the driver appears to be working properly. In the control panel settings for sound, the balance is correct, and the test seems to run fine. Also, when i plug in headphones or speakers, i am getting sound in both ears.
Could this be anything but a hardware issue? Any ideas? If it is a hardware issue will Dell come out and replace the speaker?
Thanks!

And probably its the speaker as you think... Call Dell and tell them. Probably they will replace. -
the test shows levels on both the right and left sides, but i am only getting audio on one side.

sounds hardware related to me...

Ok, Call Dell then, ASAP!!! Probably speaker gone out...

Yup, I'm having the same problem too. My left speaker was jarring at first, and now it's only working some of the time. Seeing that you too lost your left speaker, I think it may have something to do with the fact that it is located above the exhaust vent which sees some high temperatures if it is obstructed.

hrmmmmmm my right one just stopped working????? ??? and its sure a to replace.. I cant get a part number anywhere???

Dead speakers seem kinda common in M1530, since they are very small and fragile.
My right speaker went dead about a month ago, told Dell and they sent a technician to replace it. -
need to have an on-site technician come by to replace it. I got my right speaker replaced about a month ago
