To add to my question about Bluetooth support on 32 bit operating system Vista, I tried to install the drivers for Bluetooth, but it pops up a message saying;; "Activate bluetooth using Fn+F2 or Radio On/Off Switch". However, pressing Fn+F2 has absolutely no effect and I can't continue the install.. Very annoying..![]()

Browse to c:\dell\drivers\, or wherever you extracted the drivers, open the subfolder which contains the 32 bit installation files, and manually run the msi package. Once you get to the prompt for activating bluetooth, click cancel. The installation will complete, and you will have a working bluetooth device. A reboot might be required, though.
I always have to install this way, on Vista x64. -
Turn on the Bluetooth before installing the driver, using the slider on the side.

That doesn't work, at least for me.. The Radio control switch is set to WiFi and Bluetooth, and yet before installing the drivers, it doesn't work... Only turns on the Wireless card.
-
Hey Buddy.. Dont worry.. it has a Wireless button on its right which you will need to power on and then you should be able to use the wireless and the bluetooth option
-
Hey there.. lookout for the slide button on its right and you should be able to power on teh bluetooth and wireless -

hey guys i have the exact same problem with the bluetooth...
I have a dell xps M1530
and none of the solutions above worked for me. I even wiped my hard-drive and restored the factory image, and the internal bluetooth still doesn't recognize my bluetooth mouse.
For the installation of the drivers, at the last step where it asked me to complete the installation by "activating the bluetooth device by pressing Fn+F2 or the Radio On/Off Button", I pressed the key combination and it didn't work, and I have no idea what the radio on/off button is.
Even after contacting dell technical support there was nothing....
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Guys, if the dell drivers don't work/recognize the bluetooth radio, then give bluesoleil a shot. Maybe it will work. I had the same problem and I installed bluesoleil v6 and it is working perfectly
-
the patch i listed in earlier post didnt help. fixed same prob for me
-
Guys, even I had the same problem when I tried the Dell/widcomm drivers. I then installed bluesoleil and it's working fine. I haven't tried uninstalling it and giving the dell drivers a shot though since I have no problems at all now
