    Dell XPS M1530 Disable Finger Print Reader

    Anyone know if there is a way to completly disable the finger print reader? I checked the bios but i could not find anything about the finger print reader.

    If you go to the device manager you should be able to disable the device. Since it deals with security, it may be locked. If it does not disable or re-enables automatically, go to the fingerprint software and see if you can disable or unlock the process, then go back to the d-manager.

    there is no way to just disable the reader all together from the bios?

    why not just uninstall the software?

    the problem is if i just uninstall it upon a fresh installl its still looking for the drivers and software in the device manager. I suppose its my OCD :). but if i could just disable it in the bios when i do a fresh install i wont have to worry about that. Also vista SP1 wont show as an update unless the fingerprint software/drivers are up to date.
