Hey guys,
I got a Dell XPS M1530 like three years ago with a four year warranty. Well, I'm sure you guys know that these models have the defective 8600M GT video card that is known to overheat. Mine hasn't overheated, but I feel like it's getting there. Games like Battlefield Bad Company 2 start off with smooth framerate and then start to chug along. Sometimes I play for like half an hour or so and get the blue screen of death. I'm thinking that my computer is turning itself off before it overheats because this isn't the only game that's done that. Anyways, I wanted to know if I should do something about this laptop before the warranty runs out. I'm tempted to just try to overheat it intentionally, but I'm not sure what Dell would do about that. What do you all suggest?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
In order to got a replacement you have to had service multiple times or Dell doesn't have parts. I mean overheating it intentionally is "fraud" but playing video games for excessive periods is not. Do you have on-site warranty? Cause if you don't, you have to RMA it to Dell for average I say 1-2 weeks.

like what Tsunade Hime said, there is no 1 way step to getting a replacement.
I would just have a chat with dell tech and explain the issue. You have a pretty high chance of getting some parts replaced like a new motherboard (which contains the video chip). they will probably replace the laptop after like 3 or 4 "fixes".
