Everything was working fine until lately I noticed that during the BIOS the loading bar stops 4/5 of the way for around 10 seconds, then I hear the slot load drive turn on and only then my computer boots up...
I even tried formatting the computer.
While installing the operating system, the DVD made a really load sound which I can almost be sure isn't normal. After installing the OS it was still the same.
Also, now when I try to burn DVDs or CDs the drive makes an extremely load lawnmower kind of noise and in the middle of burning the disc, an error pops up saying that their was a problem writing the files to the disc.
Anyone have an idea?
thanks

I've had the same problem from the first day I got my M1530, but it only effects some CD/DVDs, including the Vista DVD I got with my laptop.
Never tried burning anything on this laptop.
I think I am getting the GPU issue anyway, so when I get an engineer to change that I will probably get the DVD drive changed too if I can. -
The main problem is this BIOS load time.. it is annoying the hell out of me. Think my next port of call will be Dell - there are several issues that remain to be resolved.
