    Greetings everyone,

I have been reading the threads on the Dell XPS M1530 and some people have been saying that this system would be available with other screens (ie. 1440x900 matte) in Jan 2008.

Does anyone have any confirmations for this from Dell? I think they are losing business due to the current glossy 1280x800 screen.

    Take care,

    Pylon

Yes they will have the screens (not high res matte). They are selling well regardless.

Yes, I don't doubt that they are selling well. As someone mentioned, I guess they wanted to sort of "pre-release" it in one screen configuration to see if everything is solid. I guess I will just have to be patient and TRUST that Dell will actually give us an option. I can't have a glossy for my situation; I would get tons of reflections, the rest of the system is PURRRFECT.

After thanksgiving and Before X-mas is best to push out a new product, everybody will buy them like hot cakes. I think dell might be trying to sell as much of this old screen as possible, since i'm pretty sure once given the higher res screen as an another option it'll dramatically decrease the sales of the lower res screen. who knows, maybe at the same time well give the options to M1330 as well.

TBH, I didn't bother waiting for the new screens because I wanted the 2mp camera (it gets downgraded to 0.3 with the thinner screens). I am used to using a 19" monitor with 1280x1024 resolution, so 1280x800 on 15.4" is more than enough for me
