Has anyone had a problem with air bubbles at the inner top portion of their M1530's?

Mine has an air bubble (Where the media hot keys are) and I was wondering if it's safe to just completely remove it.

Are the media hot keys on the plastic covering, or under it?

I don't want to remove this plastic covering right away because it seems like it isn't the kind that is suppose to come off, so any experiences with this?

    Thanks in advance.

Check the Service Manual online at Dell and you will find the answers that you seek.

edited: I misunderstood which plastic strip you were describing. I thought you meant the control strip which houses the soft touch buttons. You must be referring to the protective film that most manufacturers apply to protect plastic parts during manufacture. Yes, it can be removed! --sorry!

I think it's just a plastic protection, from what I have seen in pics. You can peal it off, it's the stuff that comes on new watches and stuff.

It's a protective film and can be taken off. If you don't like the bubbles then you can peel and slowly reapply it but sometimes the sticky doesn't cling anymore.

As everyone else has already told you......the plastic film is meant to come off.

Yes, its just a plastic film they put on, there should also be a large one below the keyboard, you can remove that too.

When you peel it off, you'll see reflections from your screen more clearly :)

I like to keep it on. The surface looks too shiny and like someone said reflection might be a problem.

If it weren't for a rash decision, I would've kept the plastic protector on there. Now my media keys are getting scratched up a bit. :(

    What problem exactly??

I've never had any regrets as to having removed the protective plastic film off the touch strip.

Leaving the film on there is like having furniture covered in plastic.
