    Hello All,

I'm still within my 21 day trial period on my 2nd Dell XPS M1530, and I'd like to know what my chances are of getting the LG screen with a Penryn processor? Has anyone noticed a LG/Penryn trend?

Currently, I don't have a Penryn processor, and I need the Sprint broadband card. I did get stuck with the Samsung screen, and it's adequate. However, it does have a stuck pixel...

I wouldn't mind a Penryn and need the Sprint broadband card, and so, I'm thinking of just reordering to see what's up :)

What do you Dell XPS M1530 with Penryn owners have to say?

    Thanks in advance!

afaik, you'll need to upgrade your system with a penryn, Dell does not give you a automatic upgrade to Penryn if you need a return.

If you're unsatisfied just return it and reorder what you want

I did some relatively quick checking and there does not appear to be an option to buy a Dell computer with a Penryn processor at this time. I checked both our internal information and the Dell website and I am sure that the XPS m1530 does not have an option for the Penryn, just the Merom (Core 2 Duo).

All T8x00 and T9x00 CPU's are Penryn. Dell started offering penryn on the M1530 on 3/11 in the US, but earlier for EU/AU.

You dont say which country you are based in, but the m1530 has been available with Penryn's for a while, although in some countries it's still not available on the website but often is available if you phone and ask for one.

The sprint comment by the op indicates he is in the US where penryn's are available on the dell website.

I did some additional checking, and realize that I made a mistake. My apologies for the bad information in my previous post. We do have Penryn options, the Core 2 Duo T8300, T9300 and T9500, available for the m1530 (looking at the US version of the Dell site).
