Just bought a used M170 for 140$ with a dead graphics card in it.

Planning to install a ATI x300 128MB instead of a Nvidia 7800GTX thats in it now.

I know the ATI x300 is not as good, but I dont want to buy a new graphics card every 6 months, because of the problems with this model.

But is 140$ a fair price, or have I been ripped off?

Did you knowingly buy it with a dead GPU or did the seller not disclose that information? 140 is kinda much, for like 200-250 you can get like a used D620/D630.

Thanks, but I already ordered one for 54$.

Should arrive in about 2 weeks...

Might also throw 2Gb of Ram in it, and then thats it.

    Right now it has:
    1GB Ram
    80GB HD 7200RPM
    2.13Gh CPU

Bake the 7800 GTX in the oven, it worked for my XPS M170.
