    Dell XPS M170 screen type

    Earlier this afternoon I was cleaning up and was going to move my fathers laptop. The lid was still open a bit so I tried closing it. It wouldn't close so I opened the lid and there was a USB device laying on the keyboard. Needless to say the screen now has a small crack on it.

    I don't know whether there are different manufacturers of screens (eg LG, Samsung, etc). I do know that the XPS was an WXGA+ screen and matte.

    If anyone has any helpful suggestions such as part numbers I'd appreciate it. My dad loves his laptop and I feel terrible about this. Thank you!

    UPDATE:

    LOL. What I thought was a crack is actually some type of candy that one of my niece or nephew got on the screen. I'm VERY RELIEVED! Now i'm not out $100!
