    Hi everyone.

I have a couple questions regarding EPP. If someone could help me answer them, I'd be quite greatful. I've already done a search, but nothing quite answered my question.

I thought that the 12% EPP discount does not apply to the XPS systems. However, looking through the forums, I've noticed that some people do indeed have the 12% off in the posted bill specs for their XPS computer. The real kicker is, some of the bill specs are from University EPP plans.

    ???

Am I missing something here? When I configure an XPS on the dell.com/epp page, it also lists the computer as having a 12% discount once I select the requisite warranty. However, this discount vanishes when I am about to submit my order. How is anyone getting the 12% discount?

Also is there a listing anywhere of the companies that are under Dell's EPP plan? I just started work...don't really want to call up my tech support just to ask that question. On the other hand, I still have the EPP plan from my university, which I will be attending part time for another six months. Will the 12% discount towards the XPS work with that?

    Thanks.

The 12% off is valid on any system that is configured with a 3 or 4 year warranty when purchased through EPP. You get the same discount whether you purchase through the University or business parts of the EPP program; so that doesn't make a difference.

Dell does not have a listing of what companies have and don't have an EPP membership code. You can order without a membership code, however by simply going to www.dell.com/epp and select one of the options from the drop down menu below the box to put in your code. You can use the membership code from the University you will be attending and it will work fine; as long as you get a system with a 3 or 4 year warranty you'll still get the 12% discount.

Hope that helps you out a little.

You can also call dell, and they should be able to confirm what percentage the univeristy of your office gives. One thing, these are generally not stackable with each other - you can either use the university or the office, but not both. They are both stackable with the 12% off EPP.

You need to select either the 3 or 4 year warranty for the 12% discount, and it should show up once you've added it to your cart.

Also, if you select the generic 3 or 4 year (without cheesy Dell On Call or Education) - then select Complete Care -- then select your AV of choice (not McAfee), you'll end up saving a bit more and get the 12% without going with that McAfee garbage. IMHO
