Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any information that could help me.
I run a Dell XPS M1730 with a GeForce 8700M GT card inside of it. I also run Windows 7 64 bit with DirectX 11. I recently had to reinstate my warranty since my old graphics card went kaput a month and a half ago. I got the new 8700 about 2 weeks ago, along with the new screen, motherboard, RAM, and power cables they sent me.

After getting the new card I decided to update my drivers because they were out of date. So I updated my drivers earlier this week to 260.99, and since then I have been getting constant errors. Blue screens that tell of driver errors, and the computer sometimes locks up with a black screen, while the backlighting and LCD above the keyboard stay lit.

This occurs when I'm playing some games, namely World of Warcraft. Also it occurs when I try to pull up a video of some kind or even just locks up out of the blue. Since then I've rolled back my drivers so I can actually operate the computer with some measure of normalcy.

I checked and as far as I can tell my computer should be able to run the 260.99 driver, if thats even the right one.

I really want to get this fixed, I got the run around from Dell for 2 months and was really hoping I had this problem fixed. I'm really disgusted with the whole thing...

    Any help would be nice.

    Thanks

The new driver is problematic. I blue-screened with it for the first time in all the years I have had the M1730.

Roll back to a previous version. Hopefully, that will resolve the problem for you.
