    Dell XPS M1730 HDMI cable connection issue

    Dear laptop users,

    I'm a proud owner of a DELL xps M1730 laptop. Recently I experienced using my laptop on my television screen (LG). However, recently something went wrong. When I try to establish the HDMI connection my laptop won't change it's screen to the television screen. :confused: It changes the resolution on the laptop screen and that's it. When my friend get's here with his xps m1730 it does work for him.

    I tried connect a screen trough the DELL quickset but nothing I do seems to help and it is hard to find information on the web concerning this issue. Maybe it is a very easy procedure and I misschanged some of the settings....

    What Nvidia drivers are you using? I recommend you go for 185.85, as I found it very solid with my TV. Previous drivers from that caused me issues...

    But M1730 does not have HDMI connector?

    Thanks for the replies. First off, I'm not very acquinted with computers besides playing videogames and do some school stuff.

    To Quicklite, I use this small piece that you put your HDMI cable in which enables it to make a connection Laptop -> TV. It worked fine for like a month. To EAMBO, I already tried downloading different Nvidia drivers but that doesn't seem to remove the problem. I'll try 185.85 tonight.

    More suggestions?

    God I miss watching Man VS wild through this connection :(

    I personally use HDMI -> DVI-D cable. Works quite well =-D
