I don't think so... and if possible it would be smarter to simply get the extended protection now, it would be cheaper in the long run

As far as I know, yes you can extend your warranty right before it ends. I did that. Unless something changed...

How much would it cost for complete care (1 year) if you extend it.

I am not sure really. I extended mine to 3 years complete care around 8 months ago, and it was around $300. I think :D.

They will usually contact you before the end of your warranty to try and sell you an extended warranty..you can also always go online and enter your service tag information to find out how much it would cost you ;)

Here is some information from Dells site:

My personal experience with Dell warranties is that it is cheaper when purchased at the time that you order your computer. It is more expensive extending it later.

If you change the cpu and add more ram does it void the warranty? (of course when sending it in, you'll switch the cpu back to the one you ordered)

Well, as far as I know any additional performance part that is considered an upgrade shouldn't void your warranty. Unless you try to make them cover for an Item that you upgrade your self such as adding an X9000 and due to a bad ebay seller, sold you a defective X9000 ES? But you never did ordered it when you bought it from them.

Check this out! They never talked about any 3 party parts that would void your warranty! They just simply won't cover that part since it isn't an OEM ordered part!

Alright, sounds like as long as I put back the stuff I ordered, it'll be ok.
