Nope, no overheating problem at all. After replacing the thermal paste, the laptop have not overheated once. On extreme cases, it only gets a little uncomfortably warm, but not so much that in will burn your hands off. For reference, HWmonitor reports a cpu temperature between 38-60C. 38-42C on idle, and 55-60C on max workload. imo I consider the low battery life more of a concern than the heat. I hope this helps :D

Where are you reading about overheating problems? The SXPS 13 can get pretty hot but not to the point of actually overheating. It's the M1330 that had the 8000 series cards, which did have some issues of the cards failing.

The SXPS 13 has always had either a 9400 or 9400+9200='9500' combination, though another new option has just come out. The latter will get hotter with both cards running, so getting the 9400 only is a better choice (and cheaper) if you're concerned about heat.

As far as I know, putting a new thermal compund on only reduces the internal temperatures, the external temperatures should stay the same seeing as the heat is still going through the heatsink

buy xps13 with their latest card n10m (210m) you wont have any issues.
xps 13 does get hot with 9400m and 9500mge set up. Half people who own it try modding their systems to run cooler or buy cooling pads. thas pretty bad to buy a laptop and then worry how long will it last me. Go for the newest card xps13 has to order... it should resolve this issue anf give you better visual performace
