Does Dell put some kind of password on it? I don't recall ever setting a password, and I want to access the BIOS. How can I go about getting it?

You should be able to enter by pressing F2 at POST. Does it ask for a password?

Yes it does. I typically only set 2-3 different passwords for all my devices over the last 5-6 years. I have tried them all, which is why I think this laptop's BIOS came pre-locked.

Pulling out the CMOS battery should reset it. That's how it works with a lot of motherboards.

Only in desktops. You will probably have to call Dell to reset the password.
