    Hi there,

My first post so be gentle please :p , I recieved my Xps M1530 last week and when I ordered I just went with the standard 12 Month XPS @Home warrenty. After all these GPU problems I've read about I'am starting to think I should have gone with a 3 year XPS @ Home warrenty. My question is can you upgrade the 12 month warrenty to a 3 year warrenty after you have purchased the laptop?

    TIA
    Fingle.

You can upgrade the warranty any time in the next year, before your warranty expires. It isn't necessary to buy additional warranty right now...

Dell person told me the cost is only slightly higher than what it is as ordering time. You may upgrade for an additional year at the end of your year, this is VERY cost effective. I've already needed 3 at home services!

    Hi guys,

Thank you for the replies! It's put my mind at ease a little knowing that I can upgrade my warranty(spelt it right this time :p ) . I think I will wait until nearer the end of my current 12 month warranty before I upgrade.

    Thanks :D

I said the same words, knowing I could purchase more time on my warranty definitely put my mind at ease.

:D ;) I took care not to type the word more times than in the OP... :p

Speaking of warranty, I have 1 year complete cover, 3 years NBD parts and labour, and have lost count of the number of times something or the other has gone kaput.. Thinking of upgrading the complete cover to three years too...

Do the copper mod and you are good to go.

If you really have that much money at hand, I can suggest you a charity than a warranty!

    Hey there! Congrat's #1 :D

And, with most of the OP's that were helpful...Yes, you can upgrade you warranty...As suggested, give Dell a call. :D

I have the 3 year warranty on my 1530, and am glad that I have it! My warranty package, also came with *on-site* service ;) :)

Oh, and welcome to the Dell forums ;) :)

    Cin ;) :)
