Hi I noticed 2 types of integrated video cards for the XPS 1330.
    The 3100 vs. x3100

    What's the difference?

Pretty sure that's a typo. Should be x3100.

Even if it isn't a typo you'd still get horrible graphics performance with either.

I bet it is a typo though.

Do you mean the 8400 vs the X3100? Both are bad but the 8400 just drains your battery faster. If you're not going to game, then get the X3100, if you are going to game, get another laptop. Lol.

Well it depends I guess, I play CS on this laptop and it runs fine, but there's so many better options if gaming is your priority.

Unless of course you need something to play games AND not weigh more than 2kg, I got my M1210 to play games without having to have a 2.5kg+ machine, and that was much less powerful than a M1330.

No its just a typo. They are the same thing. The m1330 is only offered with 2 cards, the dedicated Geforce 8400m GS and the integrated x3100.

Dell makes alot of typos for some reason.

It's a typo; The choice is either the Intel X3100 or the nVidia 8400M GS.

For all the bashers of the 8400M, tell me you can encode AVCHD video on the X3100. Can you? While the 8400M is obviously a low-end card, it's enough to give you some performance that the X3100 simply cannot. If nothing else, it's an extra 128 MB of RAM for the graphics, that you otherwise would not have.

Almost always get 64-bit, but buy your own 4 GB of RAM with it, if Dell doesn't bundle it that way. Otherwise, get 32-bit.

If you have a Palm OS device that you wish to sync with your computer, do NOT get 64-bit unless you know what you're doing and don't mind using BT as a workaround, because Palm has no intention of writing 64-bit drivers for their devices. Another reason I dislike that company.

Buy two sticks of 2GB ram and choose the 64bit OS.
