Hi! All I just got my XPS m1530 about 2 weeks ago.
I have this problem when I shut my lid.
I have it set up so that when I close my lid it goes to hibernate mode.
I close the lid and the whole hibernation process begins and I can see the laptop go into hibernate for a like a second. Then it restarts by itself, it is really annoying and it happens irregularly. First time it happened was when I close the lid stuffed it in my backpack and about 15 mins. later when I pulled it out I was surprised to see the laptop turned on and it was warm. Recently its been happening more regularly. Is there a fix for this, I have the latest BIOS update and I changed the settings to shut down when I close the lid and put it to sleep the same thing happens. I want to check here before I contact Dell Tech Support because they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

    Thanks.

So it happens whatever setting it is on? Have you updated all of your drivers? :)

its a pretty common problem that seems to be related to the network card/drivers.

if you search, someone actually found a solution which involves going into device manager, and changing a wireless card setting....

ok, yea, under power management, uncheck the box that allows the computer to shut off the wireless card to conserve battery.

Thankyou so much it seems like its working now I just tested it by shuttin the lid twice right now. Again thanks a lot I bet I wouldn't have gotten any help from Dell Tech Support about this issue.
