Could you please also measure temps with RMclock or Hardware Monitor? If those are real temperatures then you have the coolest running M1530 on the planet. Also, could you record the delta (lowest idle temp of CPU/GPU and the highest where the fan will kick in and bring it back down).

My fault, I didn't look real well at the screenshot because my eyes were fixated on ridiculously low temperatures. Can you post the delta?

All you have to do is note the very lowest temp at idle, then note the highest temp at idle. This highest temp will be when the fan kicks on to pull teh temp back down.

Also, if you have the means take a picture of your heatsink and post the thumbnail of it. That would be excellent.

I see, that would make sense. It looks like (at least bios A09) turns up the fans at a CPU temp of 55c, then the CPU reaches 45c and the fans kick back down to almost stopped or a dead stop (I can't be sure if the fan stops).

Your temps at idle never even com close to that so your fan will stay at it's lowest state. We must have a picture of that heatsink. Also, could you use GPU-Z and tell us the manufacturing date of your GPU?

I'm with you. I wonder his ambient temp as well. And his load temp is most important. I just wanted to get a baseline before proceeding to punishing the GPU.

    Hey guys
Ive had my xps1530 for a few months now and i thought i'd finally chime in
fwiw my idle temps for my Dell are around..
    37-42C for cpu (9300)
    52-58C for gpu (8600)
    40C for the HDD

When im gaming the highest temps ive seen are

    78C for cpu
    92C for gpu
    47C for hdd
With temps that high it fells like the whole left hand side of the laptop is about to melt

    *Edit*
Had my laptop on standby then played Left 4 Dead for about an hour, after that I let it cool down for around 30 minutes and these are the temps

    Guitar Hero,
There is barely any variation between your max/min temps, which tells me you are using HWmonitor to take a quick snapshot of the temp rather than letting it run for a long period and record the actual max/min.

Regardless, your temps are very low.

Seems pretty normal considering i've apparently got a defective gpu thats a ticking time bomb
Seems like the unaffected/replacement gpu's run alot cooler
