Hey folks. I'm a .NET developer from Israeli and just ordered my Dell Studio XPS 16 + Accessories:

    Studio XPS 16"
    2.53GHz Intel Duo 2 Penryn P8700 (1066Mhz FSB)
    4GB DDR3
    Radeon 3670 Mobile 512MB DDR3
1080p High Definition Edge-to-Edge RGBLED Screen
    500GB 7200RPM HD SATA 2.0
    +
    Logitech VX Revolution Wireless Mouse
    +
    ZeroShock III 17" Sleeve.
    +
    Case Logic Slimline Case 17"
    +
    Seinheisser MX400 Earbuds.

(don't ask about "why a case and a sleeve?!", felt overprotective heh..).

I will work 100% of my time on a desk in a library \ at class.

Question is: should I get a cooling pad? something like Gigabyte G-Pad or Rollpad or whatever? or anything else from Zalman or Thermaltake?

Or.. am I good without a pad? Again, daily programming work for about 6-8 hours a day...
    thank you :)

thanks guys, but you didn't answer my question in this thread...

    I can't believe I didn't see that...

I would definitely buy a cooling pad if it were me ;)
The rubber feet on the bottom are about and 1/8" thick. A cooling pad would surely help keep it cooler. And since you'll be using it on a desk all the time it is an even better idea.

I would definitely get a cooling pad. I use a metal stand with holes in it and an external KB/mouse for my laptop to help keep it cool.

which cooler would you guys reccommend? i'd reaaaally rather get a passive one, i dont want to start messing around with fans and chargers\batteries.

which passive cooling options are the best for my 16' rig? :)

I have looked into Zalman 1000, but is it good for the XPS 16? with all that air-intake has to be on the bottom for optimal results?

    also - Zalman NC-1000 or NC-2000 for my XPS 16" ? :)
