well as the title say i am about to buy one from the above two Laptops

let me post the specs for each of the two

    Dell xps 15

    iNTEL CORE i7 2630QM 2GHZ

    Ram 6144MB (1x2048+1x4096) 1333MHZ
NVIDIA 2GB GT 540M DEDICATED GRAPHIC CARD
    640GB SATA HARD DRIVE 7200rpm
    DVD-SUPER MULTI DOUBLE LAYER DRIVE
    15.6" HD 1366 x 768 PIXEL RESOLUTION
    WINDOW7 HOME PREMIUM

    and Hp Dv6 6090

    CORE i7 2630M 2.0GHZ
    Ram 8GB
    HDD 1024GB
    15.6"
    WIN 7
    IGB ATI 6770
    BLU-RAY DVDRW

any one knows the screen quality of the Hp 720p coz i know ( from the member here ) that dell 720 is of the worst quality in its class

i cannot upgrade the screen to 1080p of any of those two above because of the region where i live i can only take it or leave it

both the lappy are of the same price i know hp by specs look a winner but please guys comment on the HP heating probs as their DV6 lineup is known for heating i will be using the laptops for more than 10 to 12 Hours straight (not gaming).

please comment on the overall build quality and stuff and is this camparison camparaple or not OR i am camparing two different things i mean i know XPS should be compared to HP envy ...but this wasnt an option for me so i compared these two

From what I've understood, if you can't get the 1080p on the XPS 15, then it's not really worth getting. You could probably find out more info in the Dell XPS 15 R2 - L502x - Owners Lounge thread.

so if Xps doesn't worth it should i opt for the second one (hP) for better spec and stuff but i am reluctant because of the heating issues which Hp is known for its DV6 as i have said i will be Working at least 10 to 12 hrs straight graphical work which can be heavy ....i dont want my laptop to shutdown automatically coz of heat ...as i said i wont doing gaming much very little or moderate gaming

If you can't get 1080p on the XPS 15, get the DV6. The 720p screen at least isn't as bad on that model, and plus you get a better graphics card.

Also where exactly are you buying from?
