Hi my fellow xps worshippers :D

Ordered a dell xps 1730 and got it last friday but i was away and my wife collected it. I came back home today from work abroad and was looking forward to testing out this beast.

Anyway i unpacked it and took out the laptop and took off the plastic protecting the keyboard and chassis and their were about 3 scratches on the keyboards

What do you reckon i should do , as i really want too keep this as im taking it abroad with me on sunday. But at the sametime i was bit annoyed because i paid nearly £2000 pound.

    What will dell do

could try to buff out the scratches yourself. But if they are not noticeable then dont worry most people will be staring at your kick ass lcd lights

If it's really quite bad, you can always chew Dell out. :p

Call them and they will send a tech out to replace the lid.

Ask for keyboard replacement. It's pretty easy. Scratches on chasis ... if it's easy part to replace, ask for this also.

scratches on a brand new XPS might be worth something by way of compensation from a Dell rep. Give them a call, you`ve got nothing to lose.

If you have at home service they will send out a tech and over night the parts. Just give em a call.
