I currently have a dell xps m1330, which i have downgraded back to windows xp pro. This problem may seem strange or there may be a simple answer but i cannot seem to figure it out.
-When i turn the computer on without the charger plugged in the machine will automatically restart once i login to windows. But if the charger is plugged in it will load fine. Its not a batter issue because it gives me some sort of parameter error before it restarts and if i boot in debug mode it wont keep restarting. I checked the system event log and its giving me a service control manager error saying "Ram Driver service failed to start." I beleive its some sort of power stepping issue but i am not sure. I tried turning speedstep off in the bios and it blue screened without the charger plugged in. I have tried upgrading the bios and the chipset drivers, but no luck. This is inconvenient since i cannot take it anywhere without turning it on with the charger first plugged in; but after it boots up with the charger i can remove it and its fine.
    Please HELP!

Did you experience the same problem with Vista?
