I have had a Dell XPS 1520 for over 2 years and I just noticed that in addition to the constant blue "power" light (near the audio and mic jacks) , there is another blue light that just recently started flickering continuously and is accompanied by computer sounds, as if it is related to data transfers/Internet activity. Can anyone tell me what this light is? As I said before, I am aware of the power light that is always on, but this flickering light has only started flickering recently. Or maybe it has always flickered a little, but now it seems as if it is flickering a lot more (the whole time I am online) where I notice it. It is becoming annoying. Is this related to wireless activity? I looked for this information in the owners manuals, but there is nothing that addresses the lights near the microphone and audio jacks. Does anyone know what this light is?

The other lights there are the battery charge indicator and hard drive activity indicator. It is possible that your hard drive is working more due to being full/fragmented/doing error correction because of bad sectors. Or you recently installed something that is doing a lot of disk activity.

    Thanks DakkonA! That makes sense.

It's funny you mentioned that, because after having my computer inspected because it was acting strange, the computer guy installed a fragmenter compressor (I think that is what it was called). He said it will make my computer faster. I have not really noticed big improvements with speed. The only thing I noticed was a lot of blue light flickering and a lot of noise.

    THANKS AGAIN!!!
