I just bought a XPS 16 from the Outlet store because its the only place i can get the RGBLED screen. My question is will this laptop go dead in a few months? I kept going back to select the complete care option but it would not show up in the finalized order. Will I get a chance to buy that Complete Care package later?

You cannot predict the future of your lappy. With good care, etc...you should be fine.

Yes, you can usually add Complete Care HERE (you need to add whilst your current limited warranty is still intact). Just dial up for pricing & try to do some price dealing. ;)

    :)

Check the system description. It's either A) New B) Cerfified Refurbished or C) Scratch & Dent.

My Inspiron 1520 lasted 2.5 years and it was refurbished from the Outlet. I sold it to someone the other day and it was still working great.

Yes, but it was repaired and extensively tested. Like I said above, mine was refurbished and it was still working great 2.5 years later.

Does the new XPS have the same mother board as the previous one? Is it possible to upgrade my video card in the future?

My last two Dell laptops (different Studio 15 models) were Certified Refurbished from the Outlet, and the first died within a few months. The second died just a few weeks after the one-year warranty expired. You be the judge.

The bottomline is that you have the same chance of problems with a new one as one from the outlet.

It is highly unlikely that you can or will try to upgrade the video card in the future.

I just bought a XPS M1730 from the outlet and it looks brand new. No problems yet but I know anything can happen. I received an option in the mail to upgrade the warranty..........Im sure you will too.

Think before buying Dell and again from their outlet. Recent news says " Dell knowingly sold faulty computers and put the blame on consumers". Again outlet laptops are of second hand laptops. And if you have a better luck you will click else you will be in trouble.

If you had actually read the articles discussing this you'd find that they were corporate machines that were failing due to the widespread capacitor issue of several years back (I in fact had 2 Dell Optiplex machines in my office go down from this exact issue). That being said, warranty much?

Outlet machines are hit-and-miss. I think out of the...what, four?...systems I have ordered from the Outlet in the past all but one had major problems within a year or so. One the same week I bought it.

Think of it this way...a good majority of these computers were probably returned because they already had problems.

Warranty is definitely a necessity if you go with the Outlet.

I got my laptop. So far so good.
Hope it doesnt poop on me for another 2 weeks when I have the money to purchase Complete Care
    One more question:
Where do you guys get the drivers for the Radeon other than the Dell Driver's page?
