    It's true.

Dell has replaced my M1710's internal parts 3 times. This includes: Heatsink, fans, motherboard, and GPU. I currently run a 7900 GTX Go.

So what was it like before they replaced it? Here is my IDLE temperature. No folks, this is not in game.

Okay cool, so it got up to 90. Fascinating.
But what happens when they replace everything?
Wow. Look at the difference in idle temperatures:

Even in game... (this is with a cooler activated... NZXT Cryo LX)

Look at the difference... I personally think it was too good to be true!
I was like... holy , Dell actually fixed something?
When the "Dell technician" replaced everything, he also made sure there was no dust by using his little bottle of compressed air to blow everything out. Was it a job well done, Mr. Technician?

    NAHHHHHHHH.

Take a look at this. Idle temperatures about 8 hours later WITH the cooling pad running - haven't played a game in about 2 hours... in fact, my screensaver was on for about an hour:

Here's another screenshot about a half an hour later:

    http://img23.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newgputempidle1hrday2.png

Hmm... and another half hour later?

    http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newgputempidle1hr30mins.png

So... it's cooling down, right? Very steadily but slowly it seems, correct?

NAHHHH x 2. What the is going on here? I just don't get it. Spikes back up again:

I don't understand? Clean vents; new parts; no spyware; nothing even remotely close to stressing the GPU card out, yet I am idling a temperature of around 75+ degrees C. My room is about 80 F... no reason for my GPU to be that high. So what the is wrong with this piece of ?

If I recall, the 7900GTX usually ran at higher temps than most new GPUs. Temps are still within safe range though. What's really important are the temps on load.

Your room temp is really warm. If you cooled it to around 70 degrees i think you will see a huge drop off in temp.

I agree with Hiro...they are on the high side but as long as load temps stay safe there's not a real problem. That said, my load temps are only 3-4C higher then your idle temps

Have you tried running rivatuner or I8kfanGUI to run the fan in low speed?

depend on how you define safe... DELL will say themselves that 90 degrees is "safe" and within limits.

Of course its all fine and dandy till the graphics card goes belly up but hey good for DELL because they get to sell another graphics card....
