That's the one, thanks for the link :)

The only manufactures label I can find on this new charger is Delta Electronics. I don't have the old charger to compare to, but comparing to my 65W charger from my old Inspiron I don't see any noticable difference in the charger so I assume it's the replacement port on my laptop that's made the difference.

I just wanted to provide an update on this issue which has taken them so long to resolve. I was told that their engineers were still aware of the problem and still working on a solution and that I would be contacted in the next day or so. If I understood what the person over the phone said, the solution will be some type of clip that will hold the powercord in. Has anybody else heard anything?

    Thanks for bumping fan1

The thread at the official Dell Forums is still going. There are 2 uninvasive DIY fixes listed. The first is from a user named 80sGuy, the second is from me. My fix *shockingly* works - I trimmed some plastic from the male end of the power plug, since doing that it has not fallen out.

80sGuy has similar results with his fix. I am sure a combination of the two would be stellar.

We did hear from the amazing Terry_B that enineering has requested videos, if possible showing the cord falling out. There was some light banter about that silly request, but if it helps ... I believe he said engineering was working on a new female part and would replace for free.

And dell was never heard from again......

Well they called me on the 19th saying that they would have a part that could solve all these power cord woes and that I would receive a call back in 24-48 hours. It is now the 26th and nothing.... Pretty disappointed as I was looking for a solution that would maintain my warranty. A family emergency is the only reason why I didn't return the laptop when I first received it, as it has enough technical issues, such as optimus, ect that I wouldn't recommend anybody purchasing it until they are all resolved.

Update: Well in the hour since I wrote this, dell like a devil called me up, but didn't leave a message. I called the number back and told the agent my case number and they said that a technician wants to make an appointment to replace my motherboard , power-supply, and something that sounded like casing. So I guess they are sticking with the standard solution that is way overboard and also what the people in this thread say doesn't work. I was really hoping for a clip. I guess that I'll have nothing else to say unless their engineers actually do end up sending me a part that actually fixes the problem.
