    Dell l702x Replacement

    Hi,
    My L702x arrived DOA from Dell , an engineer came out but couldnt get it going either so after being told i could have a new motherboard i in 2-3 days i begrudgingly accpeted. Anyway 2-3 days later no motherboard.... I had been blatantly lied to as Dell have none of these motherboards availble for spares (although they do to build them from new) so im already pretty cheesed off at this, they then say i can have a replacement to i accepted.
    Was told it would be with me in 7 days , low and hehold it wasnt i lost out £200 on a gig because i had no laptop. Dell told me also that they couldnt offer me any free upgrades for the inconvenience of having no laptop . Now , my new one is finally being shipped, do you think i could get away with removing one of the Ram sticks from my old one before returning it . Im not one for stealing but they have consistantly lied to me on the phone and i must have spent £40 constantly being on the phone to their useless indian call centres so feel i deserve a little something in return for all the rubbish ive had to put up with ?

    I had same problem with a 14xps now discontinued so dell gave me a xps 15l502,doa ive had 3 pcs in less than 3 months they are the worst customer service ive ever seen and Im in the biz,anyway I feel your frustration I am arguing about having wasted 3 days on techs at home,and so many phone hours i literaly lost count.They sent me a hdd they have no info that I even got it,I could keep it believe me I feel like keeping both laptops for the ton of money they cost me in lost wages all my hdd info and programs.I am still awaiting a managers email for 3 days when he said 10 minutes.Dell Hell my friend........They SUCK!

    By the way dont believe that custom build no parts BS,I have 2 custom alienwares I had a prob (minor hinge repair)The alienware service which is different by the way was awesome they fixed it in 1 day and gave me a 100.00 credit without me complaining once!They just gave it as a appology I said wow!Thats service.I cant believe its the same company....................

    I feel your pain mate ! im just going to remove the Ram anyway and see what happens im fed up of their bulls*t. Looking at the setup they are sending me im now also getting 2 320gb hard drives instead of the 640gb single drive i had on my initial machine, if they do that ill be swapping the 640 for one of the 320gb aswell. I had heard alot of bad things about dell and have always steered clear of getting their products but i simply couldnt get this spec for anywhere near the price i paid so decided to take the plunge.

    Thats why we all got them (PRICE) yoy simply cant get the same specs on a different laptop for the price,I would have gotten an alienware m14x as I originaly had the xps14,I have an m11x and a m17x so I wanted a 14 for inbetween,theyve bee jerking me for months oh and one of the laptops they sent sat at fed ex 3 days because Dell mislabled the box!..Im not kidding they are horrible,I wish you all the luck possible I think your in for a bunch of crap,take all you can outta that laptop I would!!!
