    Dell studio XPS 16 replace DVD-drive by ssd?

    Hey!

    I saw this other thread, saying you could change the DVD-drive of an studio XPS 15 into a ssd drive. Is this also possible with 16? The problem I think would be that it is not a separate case, and it hasn't got an opening part, where you can insert the dvd.

    AFAIK the optical drive is off SATA1 connection so anything there would run slow anyway..

    caddy for HDD

    cable to use the dvd drive externally

    i installed my intel x25 120gb ssd in normal spot in the laptop and then put the 500gb 7200 HDD in the caddy where the DVD drive was.
