Hello,
So here's what happened.. was searching net, then crash and reboot.. ok? restarted, bios loaded looked normal and "windows is loading" animation was loading and BAM! quick BSOD and restart, does this for safe mode and everything.. i disabled reboot and it said UNBOOTABLE_BOOT_DRIVE. Have been googling all day, no dice.. so I thought I just needed to reinstall windows so i took the hard disk out of the laptop and connected it to my other laptop via external hard drive to try and backup.. but the disk didn't show in Computer for a while then, says I have to reformat. So I decided to take a break, then started googling and thought I'd try and boot Ubuntu from external USB. So i did that and the good news is that my files are still in tack and thankfully was able to backup all my important files to external USB. So I'm not sure if this is a sign of the hard drive on it's way out or what. But i can't seem to repair windows with CD, or fix startup errors.. Not sure what to do?
Also:
hard drive does show in bios
Really appreciate the help!

It sounds to me as if you have corrupted sectors on your laptops original hard drive.
If it happened to me i would buy either another HDD or an SSD, and load the OS up on that - then test the lappy. If it resolved the problem then buy an external enclosure and try to backup what you can from the original HDD to the new one, then run manufacturers diagnostics on it (disktools or whatever - check the manufacturers site), checking for defective sectors.
If that is the problem then you may want to either trash it, or spare off the bad sectors and use it as an external disk in the caddie.
