I just checked the Support.dell.com website and saw that for my xps m1530, there is a new update for the 8600m GT video card on 8/18/08.
Driver version: 7.15.11.7597, A02 (guessing thats 175.97)
I have 174.31 right now and its great, its stable-cool. While idle, its between 60 and 66, and while gaming, amazingly, post-temps indicate between 58 and 63 (all in degrees Celsius).
Do you think I should upgrade, like if there are any significant upgrades in that version? What are u guys gonna do?

test n report back to us =P i use laptop to go 175.97 so no comments from me
-
would these be the same drivers posted for the m1330? (i usually check the drivers for m1330 first since they get updated first and can be used on the m1530)

Any 64-bit version?

download the modded inf and put it in the extraction folder... it will install your new drivers for 64 bits...

I think im gonna go ahead and stick with my 174.31 drivers because im getting stable temps as I said in the original post, and solid performance (4690 3dmark and ingame is fine).
Unless anyone knows if this specific update was released to combat all the issues currently affecting the nvidia 8600m gt. -

FWIW: v7.15.11.7626 driver avail from above link... -
I downloaded the newest driver from DELL and found that all aspects of my computer ran a little hotter than with the old 174.31 driver. So rolled it back and to my surprise this driver was cooler.

After the dell drivers (for the vostro and the inspiron version) gave me 1500-1600 3dmark 06 scores Ill never use them again.
