hey everyone, thought of buying the xpa 512 gb tomorrow. Before I do that I just want to know if there is a hardware update on the way? No one probably knows, but just wanted to hear just for safety. If dell has a routine for putting out summer hardware updates or so.

And what would you say, is now the time to buy?

    Thanks

You could wait until the summer, but then there will be next years revision on the way. So you could wait until next year, but then there will be next summer's revision on the way....etc etc...

Just buy it now. I have no idea whether there will be a revision this summer but if there is then it will make minimal difference, if anything, to your real world use.

That's a good point though. Just, like most people, I like to have the newest version. Anyone know if dell did a summer update previous years on the old xpa models or so?

No, they are not going to do an "update" of a machine that is 4 months old.

And it shouldn't *ever* matter if there is a better / faster / cheaper model coming out tomorrow. Buy what you need, when you need it. If you need a laptop right now for work / school, it isn't going to help you if you just stop doing work / schoolwork for 6 weeks, because you heard some rumor that a new laptop model with a faster processor or GPU is coming out in 6 weeks.
