Hi I just received my new laptop as mentioned. It's a I7/8/1080p/with Blu Ray. I have sound but it sounds no difference from my old laptop, matter of fact it's quite low. I have the volume to 100%. There's no software for the Waves Maxx Audio 3 that I can find. Any help would be appreciated. BTW this a a refurb from Dell Outlet. :(

Make sure the Realtec ALC887 drivers are installed.

Something must be wrong because this laptop is freaking loud! Not in a bad way. I just received mine yesterday and I only put it on its highest setting to see how loud it would be. Also the brightness from this thing is amazing. I thought it was weird that some people would say that they kept the brightness to like 30 or 20 percent but now I see why.

Then your driver is installed. That is your Waves Maxx Audio software.

    I can relate to that.

There have been more than a few people here disappointed with the sound on this new XPS 15 especially since it has been such a strong selling point on it. I am one of them. My current laptop is a replacement. Replaced for more than one reason but one of them being terrible sounding speakers.

Dose your sub woofer seem to rattle or sound muffled when you have it at full volume? Mine did but not on my new one. As far as the volume goes well, its about the same as the first one I received and close to the same level as my Inspiron 9300. Like you said and I agree, its not much difference between this and my old laptop. The high notes are a little more crisp but the bass is about the same but definitely not better.
