    Hi all

Im looking at buying the new dell xps l502x and was wondering if i connected the laptop to my 40" hd sony bravia tv through hdmi, would it look the exact same on my t.v than it does on my laptop?

Also how would games, movies and streamed videos look if connected to the hd t.v through hdmi cable

Any help would be much appreciated

Yeah they should look exactly the same as on your laptop. It'll use the full 1920x1080 resolution of the TV.

Be sure you get the 1080p display upgrade on the laptop though, otherwise you won't be able to do an exact mirroring of your display (where the same thing shows up on both your TV and your laptop, in native resolution on both)... not to mention you'll miss out on the amazing quality (and larger workspace) of the B+RGLED 1920x1080 screen.

Just to mention while you can mirror your laptop display to your TV you can use it as an external monitor too!
Wanna check your emails while you're watching a film...Not a problem!
You will probably have to use the NVIDIA control panel to resize the output to the TV as most TV's seem to overscan and you'll end up cutting off the things like the start bar but it's very straight forward to do!
My 40" Bravia had to have the settings tweaked.

It will run gta4 great as will other games but I would set res down to 1024 if you run at full 1920x1080p your fps will suffer otherwise its got more than enough oomph at med to high on most games,I have an m11x playing cod 4 ,lfd2 batman etc and not a prob and my xps is even better,I ocd the m11x and went from 6100 3d 06 to 7200,easily my xps ocd gpu runs almost 9800 3d 06!
