    Hi
A friend wants to sell me his 3 week old xps 15z 15.6 inch, back lit keyboard , 6gb ram,i5 second Gen with a 720p screen for 600$. I would love to get the 1080p though.
So my questions are is this a good deal? And how is your experience with the 720p screen? I plan to use this laptop for watching movies and some (not hardcore) gaming. Is this machine light enough to carry around cuz I plan to use it to take note in college.
    Thanks in advance

Here is the dell outlet website he wanted to show you.

    Dell Factory Outlet

After you go to the link, on the left side, slowly scroll down till you see the title "FAMILY". Under there scroll all the way down and select "XPS 15Z" and then on the right side and bunch 15z's will show up and you can check them out as u want.

However if you stated the video card and more info. on the laptop it wud be good. I would assume it has 1gb nvidia 525m. Which is a good video card for your type of needs. based on this website Computer Games on Laptop Graphic Cards - Notebookcheck.net Tech The current price you will find online for that laptop are $800-$1300+. Your friend is selling you at a very good price. If you dont want it then I would like to take interest in it. I am searching for a slim 14inch laptop. My 2 choices are HP Envy 14 and Dell XPS 14z.

    Thanks and good luck

The only thing I dont like much, but it doesnt matter, is that, USB and HDMI ports are on the back of Dell XPS 15z and not the side. Overall great laptop with good specs.

    Thanks and good luck

Higher resolution on a smaller screen is definitely NOT a good thing. I wish I had got 1280x900 multi touch instead of 1080p on my XPS17.

It depends. I love doing work on my 15" 1080p screen. I'm more efficient by being able to see and handle more windows at a time.
