    XPS 1730 with 8800gtx sli is now available from dell outlet for ~2400 min,but is it really worth it????

    If the price looks good compared to a brand new one, buy it!

    They will be pretty rare on the outlet compared to cheaper machines, and as pointed out, scumbag ebay resellers snatch them up quickly.

    I would say if you're looking for one, and the price is good, go for it. But quick.

    nah,this happened again with 8700gt one.in first days it was impossible to fined one,but now there a lots of then,and price got down(to ~1900$ from 2400$)...

    There are lots of 8700's now because people who bought one just before the 8800M version was announced sent them back.

    Of course in time, the 8800M GTX won't be so hot, but right now, it's as good as it gets. And a lot of people are cancelling Alienware orders and going for the M1730. Trust me, it's a hot laptop right now, if you see one on the outlet, but it quick or someone else will ;)

    haha... im one of those guys u just described...
    i was waiting and waiting for the m17x to come out, and just happened to hear all this hype about the m1730... actually did my research.. and now i dont even know y i ever considered the alienware in the first place...
    with the discounts i hear ppl are getting from Dell on fully specd m1730's, its crazy, i cant wait to actually purchase my own

    I don't really think Dell minds, after all they do own Alienware, so if they are not losing any sales, just different department of the company. Also, there's nothing wrong in promoting their own Gaming Brand, XPS, afterall.
