Sounds like maybe the keyboard ribbon came loose? Unlikely but you never know. You have to do a very light disassembly. There's a guide on the forum somewhere, either on the first page or second.

Hmm, I'm not sure, but hey, doesn't hurt to try, all you need to do is take off the top panel above the keyboard, then slide keyboard out, reseat the ribbon, and reverse step. I haven't disassembled the laptop yet so I don't know if the front media buttons are affected by whatever you'd be doing.

In any case, if someone else has an alternative, do chime in!

Does your touchpad work? I believe the media keys are wired through the touchpad. It is easy to take the keyboard off, I would do that, double check connections and try again, as Zerg said maybe something came loose when you flipped it upside down.

Did any water drip into the vents?

I`d say the keyboard cable came loose. Ripfire has a guide on opening the thing, or for step by step video input, search for Ifthibashir `s videos on Youtube.

Just disassemled my lappy a few days and can say for sure that media buttons are wired throught touchpad. And taking in account that your keyboard lights still don't work after you checked keyboard connecton, I'd say it's time for you to call customer support.
