Just saw this posted on Engadget:
Dell's stylish new XPS 15z laptop surfaces -- Engadget
Looks kind of ugly to me...
-
The keyboard looks funny to me but I'm waiting to hold judgement until the press photos come out.
-
I was digging the thinner look and the front, and then I saw the picture of it on the inside. It looks like a 2003 macbook.
-
So is this a totally different line from the current XPS correct? If so I assume it fits in between the Inspiron and the current XPS high end line?

Why Dell pushing out one after another ugly laptops ? Who said its stylish laptop ? Look at the keyboard .....
-
yeah ...Whats up with that keyboard?
-
The keyboard has a Mac look to it where the top looks like one piece and the keys are individual instead of a the keyboard being one separate piece. The body looks solid. I wonder if this is an answer to the macbook pros. Should be interesting

looks quite nice to me. I just wish they would offer AntiGlare screen, because that thing looks more like a mirror to me. Glossy screens are just like 16:9 -- only useful for watching movies, preferably in total darkness.
-
seeing that the new ones are closer to the adamo line, i would say its not an xps
-
In one of the pictures in one of the articles it says XPS|15z on the base on the keyboad, by the screen so it is the XPS 15z. I don't think it looks that bad

Pure ugliness , keyboard looks like someone puked ..
what happened to dell , i miss the designer of my old M1530
dell wants more to resemble MAC .. more whiteness and glossiness - YUCK -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
What an eyesore lol.
Looks like a Macbook Pro + Inspiron 15R + Adamo all had a baby and the XPS 15z was the result.. -

I think the only thing that stop me to buy the current XPS 15 is the design and thickness of the laptop, I am not happy with that stepping backwards comparing to the XPS 16 in term of thickness. However, after seeing this new design, it doesnt really help to stimulate my desire to buy, IMO, it is getting worse. Well, I guess I could have much more waiting time to see how it look when it really launches.

It is not possible to efficiently cool all the stuff in 25mm thick chassis...
The new Z-series will either be more than 30mm thick (which makes its place in Dell's product range questionable) or it will have to be much less powerful as the XPS 15 (dual i7+525M) -
Is this the box?

^ Oh wow.... does the bottom have a mac-esque style or what.
The size and performance peaks my interest. But I'm still like "meh." Need moar info. -
