    what brand of ram does dell use?....there is a couple of resellers selling the xps 15 at really cheap prices...they are upgrading the basic ram using crucial ram..what does dell use?

    I've had Dell give me Hynix, Samsung, and Kingston all in the same XPS 16. They just use whatever they can get their hands on the cheapest as long as it meets specs.

    Crucial is the retail branch of Micron, the company that makes the actual ram chips that pretty much everybody uses, they're one of the best memory brands out there.

    I agree on Crucial. Very good brand.

    Another good one is Kingston. That is what I use on my Dell (upgrade I did myself) and it has been performing very well.
