Did I get a good deal on my xps 1730 .
I bought the base model of the xps 1730 that lists for 2999 usd for 2699 .
I bought it at Deal stand and the rep said he used a personal coupon to take off ten percent. Then on this sight I saw the 425 of isnpiron coupon that expired 11/01.l I tried it on all the dell xps model ands as shocked to see it work on the 1730 this was the only xps model it worked on .Dell took of another 150 of the price .End of this week saw the price dropped called dell again they took another 50 of the price .I ended up paying 2,500 usd for the xps 1730 .Did I get a ok , good or, great deal .Also spoke to a rep who claims if the gpu does get upgraded if the cost is under 200 dell would do for free if was more than that dell would take some of the cost .I could not get him to commit to how much upgrade would cost. ps if you buy a dell now you get a 200 dell card .

It's hard to say if you got a good deal if we don't know your specs...
    So let's see 'em!

I know 2,500 is a crazy amount to spend on a laptop .But I think many on this site have spend crazy amounts on laptops. My dad would think anyone who sends over 750 on a laptop is crazy :)

Actually, I'd say it's a good deal. Coming from people who say that the $3k Sager is a good deal. This 1730 is exactly like a similarly priced Sager, except with a notebook processor. That's up to you to decide on how good a deal it is. And think about it, a Toshiba with SLI could cost you $2400, so I'd say this is not a bad deal at all.

I'd say it's an average deal just because of the graphics card. The G84 GPU is basically the 8600 which is usually found in 15" laptops. Now, all m1730 laptops come with the newer 8700 GPU and the Sager NP9261 comes also comes with the option of 7950gtx (which is a faster card but isn't DX10).
