I was on my way to buy a Sony Vaio Z or Samsung Q310 but couldn't found the model I wanted with a belgian keyboard.

Now I see the Studio XPS 13 is available on the dell belgian website but of course there are no review yet.

Does someone here has already ordered it ? If yes, when should you receive it ? Will you make a "user first impressions" post ?

    Thanks.

Ship dates, at least on the US site are not until the end of January. I have one in my cart and it shows a ship date of 1/29 if I pull the trigger. I however won't until I also see a review. It will probably be up to a website posting a review because I don't see consumers getting one for a couple of weeks.

I'm sure some people have awkward thoughts running through their head like... "Is leather really that great?" "Wait... isn't that thicker than the M1330?" "Does it really look better? Do aesthetics really make up for it being hotter than the M1330?" "Wait, isn't that thing heavier than the M1330?" "Is the graphics really an improvement?"

Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered a Studio XPS 13 yesterday. Actually, I received a Sony z590 in the mail yesterday but didn't open it and I'm sending it back today. I did some research only to find that the geforce 9300m gs is not an upgrade from the 8600 series. The Studio XPS 13 is a little over a pound heavier and a bit larger than the vaio z590, but I need the beefier GPU. I am excited about the backlit keyboard on the studio.

My ship date is on or before the 1st of February.

That's great! Congrat's on your order! :D You will have to keep us all updated on when it ships, and when you receive it! (If, you don't mind, of course) :D 2/1 not so far off..and maybe..it will ship before the ESD (usually over estimated, anyways) ;)

Couldn't you have ordered the Z with the 2.5 processor as well? I, too, debated between Sony Z and the Dell. What won out for me in the end is that I already have power adapters for the Dell, and that the spare parts for Sony are so dang expensive. But that Z is one nice machine.

    thanks for the link..

way hotter than the m1530? does anyone have the same measurements for the m1330 with the graphics card? :p

studio xps looks cool, but the glossy screen is kinda weird... need to see it in person first, otherwise overall its nice

EDIT: notebookcheck says bottom of m1330 goes up to 38.2C (which is 100.76F).... palmrest of m1330 goes up to 32.8C(which is 91.04F).... hopefully the heatsink design of the studio xps is better... the technican that came to replace my dvd drive said he replaced the GPU/mobo of almost everyone who has a m1330 on my campus :|

I did actually order the Sony Z with the 2.5, but the deal breaker was the 9300gs GPU. I need a little more graphics power than that. The z590 weight is really nice, plus the screen is beautiful!
