Well I just don't understand Dell sometimes. First the RGBLED display goes away, now the Blu-Ray Burners go away... And now when I'm looking into a 1647 they go away... There's NO mention of them anywhere on the US Dell website anywhere. The only Studio XPS 16 is the 1645... I was thinking about recommending the 1647 to a friend of mine.. Well kind of hard to do when they evidently don't exist any longer.

They dropped off the UK website for about 2 weeks, before getting them back up on there (got an email notification). You can configure them with the RGBLED screen and a Blu Ray player or i5/i7 processor.

They might come back up

I got a product brochure thing in the mail from Dell, and the XPS 1645 disappeared. It has pretty much all common Dell (non-business) laptops including Alienware, but has the 1647 instead of 1645. It has an i5 listed with 5730 for those interested, and it's USA.

Its all in how dell markets products. I still see the 1647 and 1645 on the site, but I wouldnt be surprised if in the near future they remove all XPS 16's. Seems as though they are phasing the XPS line out all together. Really unfortunate but I can at least say that Im super happy that I got my XPS they way it is, and if it is the last of the line before the killing blow well then its that much more special. :)
