    Hi,

Has anyone with experience with both the old, discontinued RGBLED and the new WLED tell me what they think of the new screen (for the DELL STUDIO XPS 16)? How much nicer is the RGBLED and is the difference big? Is it still worth getting this laptop without the RGBLED screen?

A little back story: I've been having problems with my SXPS16 with the RGBLED screen overheating, throttling, and the speakers. I am worried that if Dell has to replace my laptop (I have a 3 year accidental damage warranty and bought the laptop basically a year ago) I won't be able to get the RGBLED screen which I really love. I think for the moment I may try to live with these issues just so I can keep this screen, although if the problems get worse I may need to compromise.

    Thanks!

People say RGBLED is much better than WLED, but it was also a hefty $200 upgrade when Dell used to sell it in US and Canada.
If you had an LCD before, WLED will also amaze you in terms of contrast and brightness.
So, if you haven't yet seen the RGBLED yourself, WLED will be gorgeous for you and a nice upgrade over your old LCD... still definitely worth getting this laptop with WLED IMHO.

I went to the store and compared my alienware m17x screen to the studio and noticed no real difference. Both are AMAZING though, HUGE improvement over my current dell CCFL LCD.
