Hello all,
I have been using my computer on battery power lately at night time. For the record, if you want awesome battery life, dim your screen all the way. It maximizes the battery life a ton and is still very usable.
Anyway, is it possible to dim my L502X beyond what Windows allows. I want it a lot dimmer than what is currently supported.
I appreciate the help!

Not sure if this works the same on the L502x as it does the L501x but you can try it.
Right click on the desktop, graphics properties, color enhancement, adjust the slider bar for brightness to your taste. -
All I get is the Intel Graphics Control Panel:
It does not give me those options. -
Adjusing brightness in the driver control panel won't make a difference. You need to make the backlight dimmer, rather than simply allowing less light through.

If battery life is a problem, you can try undervolting.
If brightness is the problem, you can try wearing sunglasses.
Just giving you some outside of the box - alternatives. -
wearing sunglasses is a must with 100% brightness in a dark room.

I even go to the extent of wearing suncream. I'd hate to get skin cancer from my laptop.

I'd like this ability too. I don't know why computer/LCD manufacturers have decided to keep the backlight's range of brightness so limited. I tried playing around with editing the BIOS configuration, but it never worked.

Sounds like there really isn't a convenient fix. I was just curious. Thank you guys!
