Is there a setting that will disable or disconnect the wi-fi automatically when I have a wired connection for the Dell XPS 17 L702x?
I searched through the settings and don't see an option. I just prefer to disable the wi-fi if I'm on a wired connection. My old Dell lattitude laptop from work would do this, so I'm susprised this option isn't standard on these new laptops.

Fn F2, only way I have easily found to disable wireless.

I set the preferred NIC to the integrated Lan Nic. You can do this by adjusting your NIC settings.
Netzwerkadapter Reihenfolge ändern ? Windows 7 > Windows 7 > adapter, ms win 7, ms windows 7, Netzwerk, netzwerkadapter, priorität, reihenfolge, verbindung, verbindungen, win 7, windows7
i hope this will help you, since it is german, but with pictures
This will basicly solve your problem because the connected nic is always preferred over the wlan nic.
